At the beginning, the lecturer let teachers answer some questions like preferable teaching approach and the definition of a good teacher on Google classroom as warm-up. The teachers discussed in group and reflected on their own teaching experience and shared with other groups.
After the group sharing, the lecturer introduced the IB to the participants, including the definition of IB, the IB’s mission, its uniqueness, and the IB learner profile. During the introduction of the learner profile, the lecturer invited the different groups to categorize different learner qualities into three main categories - Head (cognitive skills), Heart (affective skills) and Hand (psychomotor skills). Moreover, the lecturer also mentioned the subjects in IB Diploma Program – Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Approaches to Learning (ATL), and Approaches to Teaching (ATT), which can be regarded as the important features of IB. In the first workshop, the lecturer has given the participants premilitary understanding about IB.
