10:00-11:00 11:00-12:00 | Review Assessment policy Learner profile description and group discussion | Charlie / Joanna |
As the school’s IB community members gathered around for the second meeting, Mr. Ladrona officially took his role as a host-facilitator with the guidance of Ms. Ching-yu and Ms. Chan. The meeting started with a quick warm-up activity—a short assessment on open-mindedness. Afterward, he shared with the group the score interpretation for everyone’s reference. He zeroed in on its purpose, which is not to label but rather to empower them on open-mindedness. It is a known fact that IB emphasizes such an attribute along with nine others for their learners. This activity led to the first matter of the day - Learner Profile Assessment. For everyone to get the gist of the profile to the core, the whole group was broken up into teams and asked to work on coming up with their descriptors for each criterion of a particular attribute. This activity lasted for almost an hour that ended with a brief sharing of the process per team. The remaining hours were spent on the discussion of the Policy Assessment of the school. The group took on the concern of checking on the alignment of the school’s goals and IB learner profile.
