The meeting commenced with the demonstration of Turnitin, an Internet-based plagiarism detection service. A Turnitin agent Mr. Kevin and his colleague led the presentation of the platform’s salient features and its ubiquity in about 15,000 institutions worldwide. Turnitin prides itself on its affiliations and the total number of documents under its belt. This can surely be a great help to the school’s endeavors as it ventures to offer the IB Diploma Program in the coming years after getting the necessary documentation and authorization. Right after the demonstration, the meeting went on to tackle the second main agendum of the day - IB matters. It started with the sharing of experiences by some faculty members on their trip to an IB school in Heidelberg, Germany. Ms. Rita took the lead in the said sharing. The group discussed some aspects of teaching and how they could adopt and adapt some practices into their context in Taiwan. Then, Ms. Ching yu, the school’s IB coordinator took the floor. The discussion pivoted towards the IB calendar and delegations of tasks along with the IB programs and standards.
