IB Meeting
Time: 2020/04/30
Place: Library
Taking it from where they left off, Ms. Daphne commenced the second half of her presentation by having the participants, in teams, reflect on some skills on which their students might need some help. The participants proceeded with the assessment of their current teaching situation and brought up some potential concerns. To address such concerns, they thought of some suggestions and shared them with the whole group. Right after this round-table discussion, they then filled out a document online regarding their idea of inquiry-based learning. Further, to paint a clearer picture of the subject, she then went on to showing the participants a video of an IB school, showcasing how it puts inquiry-based learning into practice. Cognizant of the types of inquiry-based learning, she shared a photo that delineates the shift of learning accountability from the teacher down to the learners in a structured inquiry through free inquiry. And for the second time, the group glued their eyes to the screen as they watched another video on creating inquiry questions. Towards the end of the meeting, they accomplished a worksheet on writing three levels of questions.
